While maintaining stoic silence, Karan Johar has been busy getting his work to talk for him.

While his film Takht is on hold for a while now till actor dates are available and shootings are possible in the locations that he has zeroed in on Tuscany and other Italian locales, the filmmaker had a meeting with Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh at Alia’s new abode at Bandra on Saturday.

A source tells us, “Karan has already kick-started work on the film, which is slated to go on the floors in a few weeks from now. The new film is a romantic comedy and brings together the Gully Boy team yet again. The three had a long meeting for the film.”

Karan already had three of his projects releasing on the OTT platforms during the lockdown — Guilty, Gunjan Saxena and Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives. He has also tied up with Bunty Sajdeh’s Cornerstone agency to set up his own talent management firm, which is now headed by former journalist Rajeev Masand. His other films — the untitled Shakun Batra directorial with Deepika Padukone — has finished a major chunk of the shoot as has the Raj Mehta’s

His ambitious Ayan-Mukerjee directorial Brahmastra is also nearing completion now as are his web projects Meenakshi Sundareshwar, starring Sanya Malhotra, and The Actress, starring Madhuri Dixit.

According to a source, “They have to now resume work on Dostana 2, which is the only film stuck because of the shoot locations. Otherwise, Karan has been the busiest producer in Bollywood during the lockdown and is soon expected to make an announcement on the Sooryavanshi release date after his partners Rohit Shetty and Reliance Entertainment lock the date.”

Karan is also expected to make an announcement today with regards to the new Vijay Deverekonda and Ananya Panday film, which will also officially get a title.
