- IREDDY SRINIVAS REDDY | DC

Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao is preparing to inaugurate the Yadadri Laksmi Narasimha temple at Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district in February.

TRS sources said that K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who is a devout Hindu, had decided to perform yagnas next month at the Yadadri temple, including maha yagnams like Sudarshana, Chandi and Rajashyamala yagnams.

As per the direction of Chief Minister’s Office, the Yadadri Temple Development Authority (YTDA) is completing all pending temple works, including civil works, finishing laying of other roads and different building work to prepare the temple for a formal opening.

Several days ago, minister of roads and building V. Prasanth Reddy conducted a review meeting with the YTDA officials about ongoing works and instructed them to fasten the works and complete all pending jobs.

Mr Reddy particularly enquired about the construction of Pushkarini and the VVIP guest houses to complete and ordered the maintenance of a daily report on the progress of works.

Officials of YTDA said that the Chief Minister is likely to visit the Yadadri temple in the last week of this month to personally inspect ongoing complete works for the inaugural. Chief Minister Rao would also hold a meeting with officials of all departments concerned about the inaugural session and the conduct of yagnams at the temple.

Mr Rao has reportedly decided to invite several dignitaries, including President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice-President M.

Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah and Chief Ministers of all states for the inauguration of the Yadadri temple city.

Recently, the Chief Minister also discussed the preparations for the conduct of the three ajor yagnams with Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamy.

Party leaders recalled that Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao had performed several yagnams at his farmhouse before and after the formation of Telangana state. They also revealed that Rao had conducted the Aayuta Chandi yagnam in December 2015. For the realisation of a separate Telangana state also, Mr Rao had invoked the gods with two major yagnams in 2006 and 2009 — the Sahasra Chandi Yagam.

The Yadadri Temple Reconstruction Project, which has been going on for almost five years now, at an estimated cost of

`1,200 crore is located on

2,000 acres and has reached the final stage.

KCR HAS reportedly decided to invite several dignitaries, including President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, home minister Amit Shah and Chief Ministers of all states for the inauguration

The reconstruction work is almost 95 per cent completed and the remaining works will be completed by month-end, officials said.

The YTDA was set up in 2015 when the Chief Minister visited the Yadadri temple after the state was formed, with the CM himself serving as chairman for the reconstruction work. Rao had declared his intent and his government’s resolve to develop Yadadri at the same level as Tirumala.

When he announced the initiation of land acquisition and funding for the reconstruction and expansion, he said that to facilitate devotees from around the world, a sacred temple city similar to the Vatican City would be created at Yadadri in Telangana state.

Over the course of over a year, the YTDA reviewed many a temple across India, studying in detail their architectural style and prepared nearly 800 draft plans, which were approved for finalization in 2016. The foundation stone laying ceremony of the main temple was held on Vijayadasami day the same year.

The construction of the main walls and sanctum sanctorum was carried out on 4.3 acres on the hill.

Madhavidhus, Tritala, Panchatala and Saptatala Rajagopuram complex, the octagonal walls and ancillary pavilions in various directions were completed by incorporating magnificent sculptures on Krishna rocks.

“The Yadadri temple construction work is being carried out in keeping with ancient architectural principles and in compliance with the highest standards of religious edicts. The timing of the inauguration of the temple will be decided by Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao in discussion with Veda pundits,” said G. Kishan Rao, vice-chairman, YTDA.
