SIRAJ’S MAIDEN 5-WICKET HAUL IN TEST MATCHES SCORECARD

Mohammed Siraj recorded the best bowling in Tests by taking 5/73 against Australian in the fourth Test.

■ The right-arm medium pacer from Hyderabad also became the 18th Indian to take five wickets in an innings in Australia.

■ Kapil Dev holds the Indian record of taking the highest number of five-wicket hauls in Australia. He claimed five five-wicket hauls in 21 innings of 11 Test Down under.

■ Siraj’s previous best bowling was 3/37 on debut in the second Test of the series at Melbourne.

■ Shardul Thakur also recorded his best bowling after taking 4/61 on Monday. His previous best was 3/94 in the first innings of the fourth Test.—
