TGDA SLAMS PRC FOR IGNORING SUGGESTIONS

- DC CORRESPONDENT

The Telangana Government Doctors Association said first Pay Revision Commission had acted in an atrocious manner by completely ignoring the suggestions and recommendations made by the state’s doctors. They said the association had submitted a detailed report on the circumstances the doctors have been working under and what the PRC should do for them.

The association said it was unfortunate that the PRC completely ignored doctors who have been at the forefront of the battle against Covid-19 and delivered services for the people under very difficult conditions.

In a statement, association president Dr Lalu Prasad Rathod, state working committee president Dr Kalyan Chakravarthi, state secretary general Dr Deendayal, and treasurer Dr Prashant, demanded that the government revise the pay scales for civil assistant surgeons from Grade 22 to Grade 25, for deputy civil surgeons to Grade 28, and for additional directors from Grade 30 to Grade 32.

The PRC must take into account the hard work by the doctors and include issues relating to allowances, increments for the doctors as recommended by the association, Dr Rathod said.

This is the first time that a PRC has recommended reductions instead of increases in benefits, and the association will discuss with all its district chapters and announce its next course of action, according to its Legal Cell president Dr Pallam Praveen.
