Cong slams Jagadish over Nehru remarks

Congress MLA accuses Harish Rao of swindling `5K crore

- DC CORRESPONDENT

Congress MLA T. Jayaprakash ‘Jagga’ Reddy has lambasted energy minister G. Jagadish Reddy for his remarks against former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru. He described Jagadish Reddy is a characterless person ineligible to speak about Nehru.

Maintaining that Nehru worked for the welfare of the people, Jagga Reddy took a dig at the minister saying: “Jagadish Reddy once used to mix soda in whiskey for Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. He is now unethically commenting on Congress.”

“Doesn’t Jagadish Reddy know how corrupt KCR is? How can he make false allegations of corruption against the Congress government,” Congress MLA accused finance minister

T. Harish Rao of swindling `6 crore when earlier serving as irrigation minister and questioned: “Did Harish Rao try to pull down KCR’s government after earning `5,000 crore through illegal means?”

Jagga Reddy also criticised MLC Palla Rajeshewar Reddy and minister Sabitha Indra Reddy. “While the latter joined TRS to escape CBI inquiry, the former chanted KCR’s name for personal benefits”, he remarked.

The Congress MLA accused TRS government of giving `3 lakh crore to Krishna Reddy, managing director of Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL). He questioned how Megha Krishna Reddy could earn `30,000 crore in just six years. He pointed out that Krishna Reddy used to travel in a Maruti car, but now his situation is entirely different. He wondered how all major projects like Kaleshwaram and Mission Bhagiratha could be handed over to MEIL.

Jagga Reddy asserted that once the Congress comes to power, it would expose corruption and financial frauds indulged in by TRS government with regard to irrigation projects. He charged bureaucrats in the state with becoming puppets of TRS government.
