Chandra, Sathwik smash a double century each

B. Chandrasekhar and N. Sathwik Reddy scored double centuries to hog Wednesday’s limelight in the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s top Division league matches.
Both scored identical scores. Chandra smashed an unbeaten 202 to bolster BDL to 350 for 6 in their match againt EMCC. His 235-ball innings contained 24 fours and four sixes.
Sathwik slammed 202 in 164 balls, hitting 34 boundaries and three sixes to propel Charminar CC to 489 for
7 against Mahmood CC. Satwik’s teammate B. Gopinath Reddy was the next best contributor with an 80-ball 108.
K. Sai Purnanand Rao was the next best on show. He hit an unbeaten
123 to bring up his maiden century that came off
231 balls, included 17 fours and took Jai Hanuman to 356 for 9. The knock was satisfying as it came against Sporting XI which had six Ranji Trophy players in its ranks. Purnanand is Jai Hanuman cricket club secretary Lakshman's son.
The consistent A. Varun Goud also scored a century. His 120 in 106 balls helped Deccan Chronicle to 378 for 7 against South Central Railway.
Yash Gupta (107) of Gemini Friends and Budding Star’s Akash Yadav (105) were the other centurions. Among the bowlers, M. Suresh
(5/25) of Sri Chakra and K. S. Mithra (5/29) of MP Colts did well.
There were a host of performers in the A-2 Division two-day games as well with Osmania captain Debansu Rayaguru (6/10) and Vijay Hanuman’s S. Vikas (183) leading the pack.
