A 55-year-old anganwadi teacher died at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (Nims) here in the city on Sunday after she was vaccinated for Covid19 disease on Saturday. She is the third person to die after receiving the jab in the state. The health department, however, made it clear that the death of the anganwadi worker, Susheela, was not because of the vaccination but was a result of comorbidities that she suffered from.

Susheela was from Mancherial district. She received her first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine on January 19 at a Primary Health Centre in Kasipet mandal.

When she developed shortness of breath and reported feeling giddy, she was taken to Nims for treatment where she passed away on the night of January 30.
