62-yr-old hit in the eye, dies during treatment

A 62-year-old man died while undergoing treatment on Sunday after he was allegedly punched by a man while trying to sort out a family dispute at Kundanbagh, Panjagutta.

The victim, identified as Vishwa Sunder Shukla, had gone with his son Vedantha Shukla, to talk to the newly-wed wife of their relative had eloped with her lover and was staying in the city.

The Panjagutta police said that a complaint was received from Vedantha Shukla on Sunday, who stated that his cousin Ankit and his wife used to live in the Puranapul area, when they got acquainted with one Yogesh Attal.

Last year, Ankit and his wife moved to Indore, Madhya Pradesh. After a few months, the wife was reported missing and an FIR was lodged in the local police station. After an investigat­ion, it was found that she had eloped with Yogesh and they were living in Kundanbagh.

“The woman’s husband Ankit, along with his in-laws Ved Prakash Vajpayee and Rachana went to Kundanbagh on Friday evening, accompanie­d by Vedantha and his father Vishwa Sunder Shukla. After a heated argument, Yogesh punched Vishwa Sunder in the right eye, who collapsed to the ground. He was rushed to a hospital where the doctors told the family that there is an internal injury. On Sunday morning, Vishwa Sunder died while undergoing treatment,” said the police.

Based on the complaint, a case was booked under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC and an investigat­ion was launched. The body was shifted to the morgue for postmortem examinatio­n.
