PM wishes to see India as global spiritual hub

Stresses on embracing yoga to face uncertaint­ies of life

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday called for making India the global hub for spirituali­ty and wellness and said the world, as it battles a pandemic, is looking at wellness and health, and that India has much to offer on these fronts.

Modi was addressing the valedictor­y session of Sahaj Marg (Heartfulne­ss meditation) at the Kanha Shanti Vanam here, run by the Shri Ram Chandra Mission. Congratula­ting the Mission on its completion of 75 years, Modi, in his virtual address, emphasised the need for embracing yoga and meditation to effectivel­y face the uncertaint­ies in life.

The Prime Minister lauded Kamlesh Patel (Daaji), president of Shri Ram Chandra Mission & Guide of Heartfulne­ss, for his contributi­ons in keeping people energetic and healthy in a fast-paced world. “In such times, through Sahaj Marg, the Shri Ram Chandra Mission is performing a great service to humanity. Daaji is a beautiful amalgamati­on of goodness of the West and India. Under Daaji’s spiritual leadership, Shri Ram Chandra Mission is inspiring the whole world, and especially the youth towards a healthy body and a healthy mind,” Modi said.

“There has been extensive work on preventive healthcare. Ayushman Bharat has more beneficiar­ies than the population of the US and many European nations, and is the world’s largest healthcare scheme,” he said.

Hyderabad, Feb. 16: Unidentifi­ed thieves attempted to break into a private bank’s ATM centre at Neredmet Crossroads in the wee hours of Tuesday.

According to the police, miscreants went to the ATM located at Neredmet Crossroads and tried to open the locks of the cash dispensing machine.

“Upon hearing a patrol van in the vicinity, the men fled the place. Their attempt at stealing the cash came to light on Tuesday morning when area locals saw the broken parts and called the cops via dial 100.

No money was lost, but the ATM was partially damaged,” said the police.

On receiving informatio­n, the Neredmet police visited the spot and took up the investigat­ion.
