PM INAUGURATES MAJOR PROJECTS IN KERALA
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of key projects of power and urban sector in Kerala including country’s first High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) project featuring state of the art technology.
The projects inaugurated by the Prime Minister via video conferencing, included 320 KV Pugalur (Tamil Nadu) — Thrissur (Kerala) Thrissur. The Voltage Source Converter (VSC) based HVDC project will facilitate transfer of 2000 MW power from western region and help various sectors including industrial and commercial units. The project has been implemented at a cost of `5,070 crore.
Modi dedicated to the nation the 50 MW Kasargod Solar Power Project developed by the National Solar Energy Mission. The project has come up in an area of 250 acres of land in three villages of Kasargod district at a cost of `280 crore.
Besides, Modi also inaugurated 75 MLD water treatment plant at Aruvikkara in Thiruvananthapuram district up under the AMRUT Mission. The project will scale up the distribution of drinking water to people of Thiruvananthapuram.
Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan who attended the inauguration via video conferencing thanked the Prime Minister and said that the Centre state cooperation was important for development in a federal structure.
The government machinery has failed. When it remains silent about illegal works, those who raise an alarm about them will become victims. Investigation, legal procedures and punishments will be a long drawn affair. But the damage is already done. This is the trend in many issues.
