JUST 24% TAKE COVID VACCINE SECOND DOSE

Only 24 per cent of people have taken the second dose of Covid-19 vaccinatio­n in four districts of the state. While the number of targeted beneficiar­ies is 1,750, only 420 took the second dose.

Meanwhile, 902 of beneficiar­ies took their first dose of the vaccine on Tuesday.

Authoritie­s are continuing to administer the first dose as many beneficiar­ies did not come at the scheduled time to take their vaccinatio­n.

A senior government official said, “They were down with Covid-19 or were busy with work. They are all coming forward only now.”

There are 1,11,829 beneficiar­ies who have so far taken the second dose of vaccine in the state.

Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) have caught superinten­dent of Circle 10, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporatio­n (GHMC), red-handed when he demanded and accepting a bribe of `5,000 for processing a file.

Phool Singh was caught after ACB laid a trap at the Falaknuma office of the GHMC. Phool Singh demanded the bribe from complainan­t Kranthi Kumar of Moosaramba­gh for issuing a cheque of `20,000 towards funeral charges of Kumar’s mother.

The bribe money was recovered from the superinten­dent, who has been produced before the special court.
