Stop taking jobless youth for a ride, Dasoju tells KTR

- DC CORRESPONDENT

AICC spokesperson Dr Sravan Dasoju on Friday lambasted Municipal Administration minister K.T. Rama Rao for not turning up for Friday's 'open debate' on employment in Telangana.

The senior Congress leader criticised the Minister for his arrogance and for having utterly lied on recruitment numbers during a meeting at Telangana Bhavan.

“Like father, like son. You betrayed 40 lakh beleaguered unemployed youth with your fabricated statement of having filled up 1.32 lakh vacancies since coming to power”.

Ridiculing KTR's statements, he pointed out that there were 4.19 lakh sanctioned jobs in 2014 and the employeestrength was 3.12 lakh. Countering the minister's claims he wanted to know how the vacancies had risen from 1.07 lakh

to 1.91 lakh and the total number of existing employees stood at only 2.28 lakh whereas the creation of new districts and gram panchayats would imply that the sanctioned jobs had to be 5.19 lakh. As per the Biswal Commission, the state has only 2.28 lakh

employees while 4.19 lakh sanctioned jobs are available, which means 47% of jobs are currently vacant in Telangana.

“The prestigious ITIR and gaming and animation city projects had a potential to generate 51 lakh jobs”, he said.

He condemned the move to remove nearly

10,000 field supervisors from MGNREGA scheme. 20,000 ration shop dealers are in a pathetic state without salary while over 1.2 lakh contract employees are being exploited even though the Chief Minister has assured that there won't be any contract employment, he lamented.

Regularising contract employees, working for

10-15 years in Transco and Genco cannot be considered as filling up of vacancies. Even the black gold mine Singareni Collieries Company Limited is not an exception. There were 65,000 employees before 2014 and now the work-force stands at just

45,000. Entrepreneurship has taken a backseat considering that lakhs of selfemployment applications are pending with BC Finance Corporation, SC, ST and minority finance corporations, which expose the true colours of TRS party, he said.
