FORMER PCC president Arun Yadav released a video in which he made a scathing attack on the decision by Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Kamal Nath for welcoming Babulal Chaurasia.

The recent induction of a ‘staunch follower’ of Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Naturam Godse in Congress has kicked up a storm in the party with former PCC president Arun Yadav on Friday threatening to stage a revolt against the state leadership over the issue.

Yadav on Friday released a video in which he made a scathing attack on the decision by Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Kamal Nath for welcoming Babulal Chaurasia, a former leader of Hindu Mahasabha who was caught on camera worshiping Godse in Gwalior in 2016, in the Congress a couple of days ago.

He described the move as unacceptable to him and many other

Congressmen and threatened to hit the street to oppose Chaurasia’s induction in the party.

“I am ready to make any political sacrifice for opposing such a move (by the state party leadership). I will take the battle to the streets on the issue”, he warned in a separate statement issued here on Friday.

The former union minister also took a dig at Congress leaders who supported the decision to admit Chaurasia into the party.

Gwalior South Congress MLA Praveen Pathak who was said to be the brain behind the move has earlier justified Chaurasia’s induction in Congress saying that the latter has reposed faith in Gandhian ideology.

“A man who worships Godse cannot relate to Gandhian ideology”, Yadav, who is said to belong to the camp of former chief minister and powerful factional leader in MP Congress Digvijay Singh, observed.

MP PCC vice-president and former minister Raja Pateria also echoed Yadav’s sentiments saying that antecedents of leaders should be thoroughly scrutinised before admitting them in Congress.

“Congress leadership should be careful in admitting leaders in the party. Otherwise, fascists and followers of Godse will one day hijack the party”, he warned.
