Pannu has many movies in her kitty. Two of her sports genre films will also be arriving in the theatres at the same time. While the first one is the sports drama
Rashmi Rocket which features her as a runner, the second one is Shabash Mithu, which sees her slip into the pads of Indian women’s cricket captain and legend Mithali Raj.
The costume team had quite a task cut out for them with regard to Taapsee’s clothes in both these films. On one hand she’s training for Mithali Raj’s role, and on the other, her character in Rashmi Rocket is nothing short of an underdog’s story. So the look was different.
The shooting of the film was completed in January and Taapsee will be seen in three different looks. The first look is of a young woman who belongs to the Rann of Kutch. Then comes the phase when she is selected for the nationals and the look changes. The third look of Taapsee is when she travels around the world. Even the design of sports kits that change at the state, national and international levels has been taken care of by the designers,” say sources adding that a lot of details have been taken care of for Taapsee’s wardobe in the movie. “The production and costume team deserve praise as they managed to achieve it in a tight budget,” say sources. “The costumes had been picked for the rest of the cast too and the casting changed after the lockdown was lifted and the costumes had to be picked again depending on the sizes of the new actors. Since most of the team were also doing other films, whose work had started — everyone ended up working more than 18 hours a day. Taapsee was also shooting for a South film in September last year. She used to shoot for 12-hours a day for a South film there with Vijay Sethupathi, after which she trained for five to six hours to get into the body rhythm for the character of Rashmi Rocket. After completing the South film , when she came for Rashmi Rocket directed by Akarsh Khurana, she followed the same 18-hour schedule to achieve the required changes in her body, for the role.” add sources.
