The toughest ask during COVID times during film shootings is safety. The team of Bhediya managed to wrap up their shooting schedule in 49 days, way ahead of time, in spite of difficult conditions.

The film starring Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon and Abhishek Banerjee was shot in Arunachal Pradesh.

The other Varun Dhawan starrer Jugg Jugg Jeeyo resulted in both Varun and Neetu Singh testing positive, and the makers of Bhediya didn’t want to get into trouble of any sort with this film.

“So the makers first chose a place in Arunachal Pradesh which was least affected by the pandemic. They put everyone in a bio-bubble after reaching there,” says a source close to the film’s production.

The entire team was tested 2-3 times even before they went to shoot the movie. After reaching there they ensured that no one else was called from Mumbai and they did the work with their limited crew.

The film’s producer Pooja Vijan was there to make sure that people followed

rules. “We never shook hands with each other or anything like that as long as we were there. We respected all safety protocols and if anyone’s mask slipped under their nose, there would be a reprimand immediately from Pooja and everyone respected that,” says Abhishek Banerjee.

“That was the main reason why we managed to do an entire shoot without anyone getting infected,” he adds.

The team returned to Mumbai on April 22, after wrapping up the shoot.

The shooting in Arunachal Pradesh was not easy. “The location has a lot of dense fog and the cinematographer had a tough time. Others too had a tough time because of the leeches in the location! Eventually almost everyone was bitten by leeches at the location, ” adds our source.

THE SHOOTING IN ARUNACHAL PRADESH WAS NOT EASY. THE LOCATION HAD A LOT OF DENSE FOG — SO THE CINEMATOGRAPHER HAD A TOUGH TIME — AND PLENTY OF LEECHES! MANY WERE BITTEN BY THEM
