Wakf Board asks for deletion of ‘forged’ request

- DC CORRESPONDENT

The Wakf Board has requested the Registration department to avoid taking any action on “a forged request” seeking removal of a property from CARD Centralized Architecture (CCA). Board officials said they are filing a complaint with the police. Officials of the board said they received a letter from joint subregistrar-1 at the registration office here intimating that he received a letter from TSWB on April 4 by courier, requesting deletion of the property of Moin Manzil situated on Church Road, Gunfoundary, from the list of Wakf properties.

The sub registrar sought clarification whether the said property measuring

1987 square yards is private and make clear whether the letter purportedly issued by the CEO, Wakf Board, was genuine or not.

Immediately, the Wakf Board officials approached the joint sub-registrar-1 at his Nampally office and informed him that the letter was fake. No such letter was issued by the CEO, they stressed.

They took the copies of fake NOC and the courier service details as to who sent it. Notably, Wakf properties have been classified as prohibited properties in Section 22-A (c) of the Registration Act.

Chairman of the Wakf Board Mohammed Saleem said the woman Mutawalli of the said Wakf property, Azeemunnisa Begum, alienated the property in favour of M/S Legend Estates, represented by its managing director Nageshwar Rao in 2009 without intimating the Wakf Board, based on the forged NOC from the then CEO. But, at that time, the Wakf Board acted promptly, cancelled the transaction and took possession of the property. Later, she died.

He said, “Now we came to know that a fake NOC was communicated to the registration department. We had verified our records and no such communication was found in the files. Though we asked the registration department to not take action on the said fake letter, we will lodge a criminal complaint to expose the persons involved in this fraud.”
