Daily deaths due to Covid above 50; 6,000 new cases
Fresh Coronavirus cases being reported by the health department continue to remain in tune with government’s claim that
Covid-19 is showing a “downward trend” in the state. On Wednesday, the department said TS reported 6,026 cases, a small step down from
6,361 instances on Tuesday.
However, this downward trend is not being reflected in the number of people dying from Covid-19, with daily fatalities hovering in their 50s. On Wednesday, 52 more people succumbed to the
virus19, one more than 51 reported on Tuesday.
This downward trend also did not reflect in number of people in hospitals — government and private — who are requiring treatment for varying intensities of disease. As on Thursday at 6 pm, a total of 27,598 Covid-19 patients had been occupying different types of beds, up from Wednesday evening’s 27,400 hospitalised victims.
There has also been an increase in number of patients occupying ventilator and CPAP beds in ICUs on Thursday. 8,161 such beds have been filled up. The number of oxygen beds occupied is 13,623, with another 5,814 ordinary beds too having been occupied Covid-19 patients. On Wednesday evening, the number of these patients had been
8,042 in ICUs, another
13,526 on oxygen support, and 5,842 in ordinary beds. Together with latest cases and deaths, the number of Coronavirusinfected persons is
4,75,748; with fatalities standing at 2,579 so far.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported the highest cases in the state for the day at 1,115, followed by
418 in MedchalMalkajgiri, 403 in Ranga Reddy, 368 in Nalgonda,
