CONGRESS TAKES ON TRS OVER LAND-GRAB

- DC CORRESPONDENT

Congress leaders from the state on Friday came down heavily against ministers and ruling party leaders, alleging that they were involved in land-grabbing. AICC secretary S.A. Sampath Kumar alleged that even Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had occupied assigned lands for his farmhouse and should be duly punished.

The former MLA gave a presentation about ministers who were facing land-grab allegations. He alleged that 13 Cabinet ministers were landgrabbers, including K.T. Rama Rao.

He challenged the Chief Minister to order a probe by a sitting judge over the encroachment allegations against ministers.

Sampath Kumar charged minister Malla Reddy with occupying buffer zone lands on which he built a hospital. He said the minister is accused of threatening realtors and builders for money.

The Congress said that another minister, Gangula Kamalakar, had occupied Wakf Board lands in Karimnagar and had approached courts for relief in the matter. He asked the government to take action against Gangula, who was caught redhanded in a sex scandal.

He alleged Puvvada Ajay Kumar had grabbed lands in Khammam and Jagadish Reddy at the new collectorate in Suryapet while Singireddy Niranjan Reddy had occupied hundreds of acres of land belonging to Ranganaikula temple and had built a farmhouse by occupying assigned lands.

Srinivas Goud had grabbed land in Mahabubnagar while T Srinivas Yadav had occupied lands belonging to government hospitals. Minister Yerrabelli Dayakar Rao had grabbed assigned lands in Palakurthi, Raiparthi and Warangal Urban while his cabinet colleague Indra Karan Reddy had occupied lands of Ayyappa temple, the Congress leader alleged.

He wanted to know why Chandrashekar Rao was not responding to court cases over allegations against key ministers.
