Etala seeks support of ‘like-minded’ leaders
Discusses his removal from state cabinet for 2 hours
In a fresh political development, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLA and ousted minister Etala Rajendar met some of the like-minded leaders on Wednesday and sought support for his next political move.
Rajendar called on TRS Rajya Sabha MP D. Srinivas at his residence in MLA Colony at Banjara Hills and discussed with him almost for two hours about the political development which resulted in his removal from the state Cabinet. He also is understood to have discussed taking on Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and other ministers who made him suffer for political gains.
Rajendar sought support from D. Srinivas as the latter knew well about Chandrashekar Rao’s strategy. Incidentally, Srinivas has been maintaining distance from the Chief Minister as well as the TRS for the last three years.
Sources said Etala was taking feedback and asking advice from seniors like D. Srinivas on how to face Chandrashekar Rao and defeat the TRS in the next Assembly elections. He also is understood to have discussed with D. Srinivas on launching a new party and sought suggestions on joining another party to fight against Chandrashekar Rao.
After meeting Srinivas, Etala also met his son and BJP MP D. Arvind and discussed his political future. Etala is likely to meet the BJP MP again soon to discuss some important issues.
The disgruntled TRS MLA also met former TRS minister and present BJP leader A. Chandrasekhar at his residence located near
D. Srinivas’ home. Chandrasekhar who worked in the TRS earlier came out of the party as he was unhappy with the Chief Minister’s working style.
Rajendar later met former RTC chairman and ex-MLA from Ramagundam Somarapu Satyanarayana and sought his support in his political voyage.
Sources said the BJP leader had an issue with former MP Vivek Venkataswamy in recent times and was not interested in continuing in the BJP. He is said to have expressed solidarity with Rajendar in his fight against Chandrashekar Rao and the TRS.
