Jacqueline’s brush with Hollywood

The actress is set to take ahead her career on the world stage

Jacqueline Fernandez has finished filming some portions for an exclusive internatio­nal project called Women’s Stories, which is being directed by four women directors from around the world. There are six segments, and two more will be announced shortly.

Leena Yadav, who had earlier directed the Amitabh Bachchan–Ben Kingsley starrer Teen Patti and Parched, is directing the anthology along with Argentinia­n Lucia Puenzo, Italian Maria Sole Tognazzi and American Catherine Hardiwcke.

The film stars Eva Longoria, Cara Delevingne, Margherita Buy, Jacqueline Fernandez, Lonor Varela and Marcia Gay Harden, all leading actresses from different parts of the world.

Leena is directing a portion called Sharing Ride, which stars Jacqueline Fernandez along with transgende­r model Anjali Lama. “Jacqueline will not be sharing screen space with the other actors though they may be promoting the film together,” says our source. “Jacqueline has already done a British film, Definition of Fear, and a Sri Lankan film in English and Sinhalese, called According To Mathew, earlier. This will mark her foray into Hollywood with the project produced by Iervolino Entertainm­ent and an organisati­on fighting for gender equality called We Do It Together,” says a source. While Twilight director Catherine directs Elbow Deep, Puenzo directs Lagonegro and Tognazzi will direct Unspoken.
