REBEL YSRC MP’S RELEASE NOT LIKELY TILL TUE.

- DC CORRESPONDENT

Narsapur MP K. Raghu Ramakrishna Raju’s release on bail, which has been granted by the Supreme Court, may be delayed till Tuesday or Wednesday as there are a lot of legal procedures to be adopted.

Though the apex court granted bail to Raju on Friday, as it remained closed for the weekend, the order has yet to reach the XI Additional Civil Junior Judge Court at Guntur in AP. Once it reaches the court, it will start the paperwork where the MP or his lawyers have to furnish a bail bond of `1 lakh and two sureties of like amount. Once it is done, the court will forward the release order of the MP Raju on bail to the district jail in Guntur.

Once all the procedural formalities are completed, the MP is supposed to append his signature on the bail bond to be released from the jail. The MP is to be brought to the jail for the purpose if he is healthy and fit enough to travel as at present he is in Military Hospital in Secunderabad, undergoing treatment after completion of medical examination under judicial custody.

If the MP is to be brought from Secunderabad to Guntur jail, it may take several hours of journey and in case he is unable to reach the jail for any reason, the jail authorities after completion of paperwork on his release order on bail will despatch the bail bond to the Military Hospital in Secunderabad by a registered post, asking them to get the MP’s signature on the bail bond and release him if he is fit enough to go out, or to continue the treatment based on the need and at their discretion. Then, the hospital authorities have to send the signed bail bond of the MP back to the jail.

So, it takes at least two to three days for release of the

MP on bail.
