KTR HELPS K’TAKA WOMAN GET HUSBAND’S BODY

Minister K.T. Rama Rao stepped in to help after Karnataka Congress chief B.V. Shivakumar raised the difficulti­es a woman was having in securing the body of her husband, a Covid-19 patient, from a city hospital.

According to the Shivakumar, the husband of Shashikala Manjunath of Mandya in Karnataka, succumbed to Covid-19 at Medicare Hospital in Hyderabad. The hospital had billed `7.5 lakh but his wife could only pay `2 lakh. The hospital management reportedly said the body would be handed over after she settles the bill.

After her relatives brought the matter to Shivakumar, he appealed to Rama Rao on Twitter for support. “I request Telangana CM KCR Garu to kindly help the family of Shashikala Manjunath from Mandya, whose husband died at Medicover hospital. She informs me the hospital isn’t releasing his body as she has been able to pay only 2 lakh out of the 7.5 lakh bill. @TelanganaC­MO @KTRTRS,” (sic),” he posted.

Rama Rao replied, saying, “Shivakumar Garu, Will take care immediatel­y if you can pass on her contact informatio­n @KTRoffice get in touch with hospital immediatel­y,” (sic). Another tweet from the office of the minister followed later on Sunday saying “Sir @KTRTRS the issue has been resolved. @DKShivakum­ar (sic).”

Shivkumar replied saying he was “Grateful to Telangana CM KCR Garu, @KTR & @KTRoffice for their help. He also appreciate­d the efforts of Youth Congress workers and the hospital for their cooperatio­n. Netizens praised the prompt reply taken by Rama Rao. “Sir KTR ji is one of the best leader of our country and he is working 24X7 in this pandemic situation and listening each and everyone problems through twitter and solving there problems within the hours and every leader should learn from him (sic),” posted Rajesh Mahindra. “Great! Ur timely interventi­on has paid off! (sic)” Shree Speaks said.
