Stage set for digital survey of lands in TS
KCR likely to hold a meet with the firms soon
The state government has initiated the process to undertake digital survey of lands in Telangana. The government had allocated Rs 400 crore in the recent 2021-22 budget for undertaking digital survey to safeguard every acre of land and determine the ownership of lands accurately with an aim to make Telangana a 'land dispute-free state'.
As a follow-up to this, chief secretary Somesh Kumar on Tuesday held a preliminary meeting with various survey agencies. As many as 17 firms participated in the meeting and discussed the modalities

for taking up surveys covering the entire state.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is likely to hold a meeting with these firms shortly to finalise the modalities.
During the discussion, Somesh Kumar enlisted the views of the companies and the problems encountered by them while taking up similar surveys in other states. The methodology, technology to be adopted, time and cost factor, availability of survey equipment and technical persons, requirement of software, hardware and internet bandwidth were some of the issues which figured in the discussion.
Principal secretary industries Jayesh Ranjan, commissioner of stamps and registration Seshadri, TSTS MD Venkateswar Rao, commissioner of settlements Sashidhar and other officials were present.
In the recent budget session of the Assembly, the Chief Minister said, “Once the survey is completed, there would be complete clarity on all issues. Boundary disputes between farmers on agricultural land, dispute over government and forest lands and between forest lands and private lands will be resolved. There will be a solution to Podu lands too, and all such issues will be resolved in the next three or four months.”
With the provision of land coordinates, he said, there would not be any scope for boundary disputes in the future. “In countries where land records are maintained properly, they have achieved 3 to 4 per cent GDP growth. The government is ready to have such a revolutionary change here,” the Chief Minister said.
