Cops slow on land-grab case, complaints Mekala
Police have intentionally slowed down the probe against Uppal MLA Bethi Subhas Reddy of TRS and Kapra tahsildar K. Goutham Kumar for land grabbing, complainant Mekala Srinivas Yadav has alleged.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Srinivas, an advocate, said, “Investigation is being intentionally delayed. Further, even though the court ordered that a case be booked against the MLA and tahsildar by May 17, police did so only five days after the deadline”.

without due process of law. As a result, the complaint was referred to Jawahar Nagar police.” When contacted, Jawahar Nagar police said, “There is no negligence and the case is under investigation”. They refused to comment any further on the issue.
Incidentally, the Uppal MLA and Kapra tahsildar had been booked by Jawahar Nagar police of Rachakonda commissionerate in a land grabbing case on May
21 following directions from the local court in Medchal.
The case was registered under Indian penal code sections120 B (criminal conspiracy), 166 A (public servant disobeying direction of law), 167 (public servant framing incorrect document), 168 (public servant unlawfully engaging in trade), 170 (personating public servant), 171 (wearing garb or carrying token used by public servant with fraudulent intent), 447 (punishment for criminal trespass), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating),
471 (whoever fraudulently or dishonestly uses as genuine a forged document), 307 (attempt to murder), and 506 IPC (criminal intimidation).
The accusation of the complainant is that attempts are being made to stymie the investigation.
