BJP at Centre, TRS in state have failed: TPCC president

● THE TPCC chief underlined that by forming the state, Sonia Gandhi had recognised the aspiration­s of Telangana people who had fought for six and a half decades for statehood.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Wednesday made it clear that the entire credit for formation of Telangana state goes to Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

He was addressing party leaders and workers on the occasion of Telangana Formation Day at Gandhi Bhavan. Those present on the occasion included former PCC presidents Ponnala Laxmaiah and V. Hanumantha Rao, AICC secretary Madhu Yaskhi, former union minister Balaram Naik, former CLP leader in council Shabbir Ali, and party leaders Anjan Kumar Yadav and Nerella Sarada.

Accusing Chief

Minister K. Chandrashe­kar Rao of misrule, Uttam Kumar Reddy said the CM does not have the courage to question the central government on its failure to keep the promises made people of Telangana under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisa­tion Act (APRA), whether establishm­ent of steel factory at Bayyaram, coach factory at Kazipet or the tribal university. Neither has the BJP-led government at the centre bothered to fulfil the promises made under the APRA in the last seven years of its rule.

The TPCC president called upon Congress cadre to work hard and bring the party to power in the 2023 assembly elections for doing justice to Telangana.
