Moitra calls WB Gov. ‘Uncleji’, claims nepotism at Raj Bhavan

Calling Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar “Uncleji”, Mahua Moitra, Trinamul Congress Lok Sabha MP of Krishnanag­ar, on Sunday accused him of nepotism for appointing his family members, relatives and acquaintan­ces as the officers on special duty (OSD) in six different roles in his office: Raj Bhavan.

Moitra’s allegation­s came hours after Dhankhar renewed his attack on the Mamata Banerjee government on the post-poll violence and summoned Chief Secretary Hari Krishna Dwiwedi on Monday.

On Twitter, the TMC MP posted the names of the six OSD and their role and relations with Dhankhar. Her list has Abbhudoy Singh Shekhawat, who is alleged to be the son of Dhankhar’s brother-inlaw Akhil Chowdhury who is claimed to have “close family relation with Governor” and Kishan

Dhankhar, a new appointee, who Moitra said is a “close relative of the Governor.”

The rest are Ruchi Dubey, wife of Major Gorang Diksit, ex-ADC to Governor, Prashant Diksit, brother of Maj. Diksit and Koustav S.

Valikar, brother-in-law of present ADC to Governor Srikant Janardan Rao, the MP alleged

Janardhan Rao is a 2015batch IPS officer in rank of a superinten­dent of police. The names of Dubey and Valikar could not be found on the Raj

Bhavan website.

Moitra tweeted, “Uncleji only way WB’s “grim situation” will improve is if you move your sorry self back to Delhi & find another job. And Uncleji — while you’re at it — take the extended family you’ve settled in at WB Raj Bhavan with you. Some suggestion­s: 1. Advisor to Ajay Bisht YogiCM on how best to Thok Do opposition 2. Advisor to Home Min on how best to hide during a pandemic.”

The Governor earlier tweeted, “Extremely alarming scenario. Security environmen­t seriously compromise­d. With each day state is sliding in lawlessnes­s and vindictive actions are on the rise...The state is in grip of unpreceden­ted post poll retributiv­e violence at unimaginab­le scale, with lacs of people being displaced and property worth hundreds of crores vandalised. Rampant vandalism and hooliganis­m has resulted in large scale arson, loot, destructio­n of property.”
