The Hyderabad district administration acted quickly against the civil works being carried out by Shanta Sriram Constructions on a piece of disputed land on Road 14, Banjara Hills, in violation of the Supreme Court’s status quo order.

A team of revenue officials led by tahasildar N. Srinivas Reddy on Friday visited the construction site along with the GHMC town planning officials and recorded developments that took place after the Supreme Court order on June 1.

Deccan Chronicle had on Friday reported details of the landfilling carried out by the builder in the report titled ‘Builder Shanta Sriram disregards SC’s order’. Hyderabad collector Swetha Mohanty directed officials to visit the site and make the builder stop the works.

Sources said the owners of the neighbouring parcel of land had submitted evidence in support of their claims that the builder had violated the status quo order. Video recordings of the personnel filling land and erecting new blue sheets were collected by the official team. “We will file a contempt petition against the builder if he continues work,” a district official told Deccan Chronicle.

Meanwhile, GHMC zonal officials submitted a report on the builder trying to fill a nala to the rear of the plot. A compound wall was built on the rear side obstructing the flow of the nala. “We got budgetary sanction to take up civil works to streamline the nala,” a GHMC official said.

Meanwhile, the owner of the plot which was allotted by the state government to a differentlyabled sportsperson also approached the Supreme Court challenging the High Court’s April 1 order conferring ownership of private claimants.
