CJI impressed by Yadadri temple

Ramana admired the renovation works

Chief Justice of India Justice N.V. Ramana, who is currently on a visit to Hyderabad, prayed to Lord Narasimha Swamy at the famous Yadadri temple, 70 km from here, on Tuesday.

As per tradition, the temple priests welcomed the CJI with purna khumbam on his arrival at Balalayam. Justice Ramana and his wife participat­ed in special puja to Sri Lakshminar­asimha Swamy at Balalayam.

Endowments minister A. Indrakaran Reddy and energy minister G. Jagdaish Reddy welcomed the CJI on his arrival at the VVIP suite on Yadadri hill.

Yadadri Bhongir zilla parishad chairman Alimineti Sandeep Reddy, government whip Gongidi Sunitha, district collector Pamela Satpathy, Yadadri Temple Developmen­t Authority (YTDA) vicechairm­an Kishan Rao and temple executive officer N. Geetha were present. The CJI also received a ceremonial salute from the police.

After offering prayers, the CJI went through the renovation works of the main temple of Sri Lakshminar­asimha Swamy on the hill shrine being undertaken by the state government at a cost of over `1,000 crore to develop it as a worldclass temple town. Ministers and officials explained to him the progress and status of works at the main temple.

Ministers said Justice Ramana was impressed by the complete makeover of the Yadadri temple and the sculptures and structures on the temple premises being erected as part of renovation works. He also inspected the works at the temple town and Presidenti­al suite later. He spent over four hours on the temple premises and left for Hyderabad.
