Aruna says govt should protect lands in state

- DC CORRESPONDENT HYDERABAD, JUNE 15

The BJP leaders lashed out at the state government for its decision of sale of lands. BJP vicepresident D.K. Aruna pointed out that the government should protect the lands rather than sell it.

In a media statement on Tuesday, the BJP leader demanded that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao speak out about the decision and explain the reason behind the sale of lands.

She criticised that the Chief Minister had looted the state under the name of Bangaru Telangana and demanded that the government take over the illegal properties of ministers and MLAs instead of selling public lands.

Aruna demanded that the government take back the decision and withdraw the GO 13 to protect the lands for future generations. She asked Chandrashekar Rao to recall his statements about Andhra people looting Hyderabad lands and questioned how he could sell lands in Hyderabad now.

Meanwhile, former MP and BJP senior leader Vijayashanti questioned the Chief Minister why the government was selling lands as it was one of the richest states in the country, stated by the Chief Minister himself.

She alleged that the finance minister’s statement was absurd about the land sale issue and asked him to apologise to people over whether the Chief Minister had made false statements about its wealth.

She asked Harish Rao why the government was spending crores of rupees on vehicles and why it was demolishing jails and secretariat if the state was in debts.

The GHMC on Tuesday provided barricading (top) around trenches that were dug up to construct pillars for a flyover at Saidabad.

On Monday, Deccan Chronicle had published a photograph (left) in these columns highlighting the the lack of fencing around open trenches and the danger to motorists on the road.
