AIMIM ACCUSES PM OF FAILING TO PROTECT INDIAN BORDERS

- DC CORRESPONDENT

AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday said India has been forced to seek help from militaries of foreign countries to protect Indian borders due to failure of Modi government in Ladakh. He was speaking in the context of India procuring drones from the US.

Remembering 20 soldiers who were martyred defending India from a Chinese attack, the Hyderabad MP said while these martyrs should be honoured for their supreme sacrifice, Prime Minister Narendra Modi must be made accountable for their deaths. “Deaths of these martyrs haven’t been avenged. In fact, under Modi, out of India’s total trade, trade with China has gone up from 10.4 percent to 13 percent,” he said.

Asaduddin Owaisi reiterated that China continues to remain in control of lands that were earlier in Indian control. He referred to continued presence of Chinese troops on the Indian side of LAC in Gogra, Hot Springs and Demchok. But what’s worse is losing Depsang Plains.

The MIM leader regretted that the Modi government has neither provided information on the current status at the borders, nor has it replied to opposition on questions raised in this regard in Parliament.

Accusing the PM of bungling during the Ladakh crisis, the MIM president said a weak Modi is responsible for our weakened position against China. “Despite Modi’s ‘charm’ and multiple meetings with Chinese leadership, China has had no qualms in occupying our land,” he stated.

The MP wondered whether there will ever be a return to the status that existed in April 2020 on the borders. He was of the opinion that the Prime Minister weakness has been exploited by China again and again. That country knows as long as Modi can manage his “popularity” domestically, he does not care about national security. “As a result, 1,000 square kilometres of our territory is now under Chinese control,” he alleged.
