Though the Tamil Nadu Government is yet to permit movie shoots, a few other states have done so, and Vishal and his team recently resumed work at Film City, Hyderabad.

The film, temporarily titled ‘Vishal 31’, is directed by Thu.Pa. Saravanan, who rose to fame with his international award-winning short film Edhu Thevaiyo Adhuve Dharmam.

Sharing the news, Vishal tweeted, “We have resumed filming for #Vishal31 in Hyderabad, it will be a long schedule and we will finish the film by the end of July. I’m happy to be back at work.”

He also shared a video of the team in action in Hyderabad, where they have been filming an action sequence since Monday in strict accordance with COVID-19 protocols.

Vishal 31, tagged as 'Not a

Common Man,' was announced in April and went on the floors officially last month in Chennai. Vishal, in an earlier interview to DC, was all praise for the debutant director. He had said, “I watched his short ETAD and was stunned by Saravanan’s intriguing narration. Vishal 31 also has a unique plot.”

Sources say that the action entertainer is about a common man from a middle-class family who questions the authorities on misuse of power.

Dimple Hayathi of Devi 2 fame debuts as the female lead. Yuvan Shankar Raja is taking care of music. Reports suggest that since cinematographer Balasubramaniem is unwell, Kavin Raj of Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum fame has replaced him. When

DC contacted the film’s publicist Johnson, he confirmed that Kavin had indeed replaced Bala.

The film is bankrolled by the hero’s home banner Vishal Film Factory.
