GOLLA KURUMAS PRAISE KCR FOR HIS INITIATIVES

- DC CORRESPONDENT HYDERABAD, JULY 21

Telangana State Kuruma Sangham on Wednesday stated that it was only Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, who gave them sheep, while his predecessors took the blanket and lamb given by the community but gave nothing in return. Rao has shown genuine concern for Golla Kurumas and is the only incumbent Chief Minister working for their welfare and development. This has been a welcome change for the community, which was living in abject poverty, before the creation of Telangana State. The Sangham’s president and MLA Egge Mallesam and general secretary Bandaru Narayana met Rao at Pragathi Bhavan here on Wednesday to thank him for increasing the sheep unit price and distributing sheep in the second phase at a cost of `6,000 crore.

Speaking on the occasion, Rao said "The state government's aim is that every community and caste should develop simultaneously. We don't indulge in vote-bank politics. In the first year after we formed the government, we decided to distribute sheep. There were no elections then. During the movement, our songs revolved around the futility of cultivation in the villages. Today, every village has turned fertile.” He said they were proposing construction of sheds for sheep-rearing. Yadavs will also be provided such amenities, he said. Mobile veterinary clinics were put into service in the state, which tops in sheep population. He would ensure that the status would be further consolidated and sustained.
