BJP PLOTTING TO DISLODGE J’KHAND GOVT: KAMAL NATH
Congress veteran and former chief minister Kamal Nath on Wednesday accused BJP leadership of plotting to pull down Hemant Soren government by splitting Congress Legislature Party (CLP) in Jharkhand.
Mr Nath alleged that BJP was currently busy wooing Congress legislators to split the CLP in Jharkhand to dislodge the Hemant Soren government and apprehended that the state may land in political uncertainty any time after 15 days.
He suspected that the Pegasus spyware may have been used to tap the Congress legislators in Jharkhand.
The spyware has kicked up a political storm in the country with allegations of tapping of phones of some high profile people flying thick and fast.
Mr Nath feared that the spyware might have been used to pull down his government in Madhya Pradesh in March 2020 and H D Kumaraswamy government in Karnataka in July 2019.
He demanded that a judicial commission headed by a sitting judge of supreme court whose telephone was not tapped, be instituted to probe the Pegasus spyware controversy.
Ruling BJP has, however, denied the charges of any attempt by the party leadership to split Congress Legislature Party in Jharkhand to dislodge the Hemant Soren government, describing it, “ridiculously baseless”.
The party has also denied its hand in the fall of Kamal Nath government and H D Kumaraswamy government.
“The Congress always makes such wild allegations against BJP to cover up its own failures and weaknesses. As far as MP is concerned, Mr Nath himself was responsible for fall of his government since he failed to take everyone in Congress along with him”, BJP spokesman here Rajneesh Agrawal said.
