SWAEROES PRAVEEN TO JOIN BSP ON AUGUST 8

- DC CORRESPONDENT

Retired IPS officer R. S. Praveen Kumar will join the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) at a public meeting in Nalgonda’s Nagarjuna Government College Grounds on August 8.

Nalgonda has been chosen as the venue as Praveen Kumar’s ‘Swaeroes’ movement is strong in this region. The IPS officer, who has taken voluntary retirement, will be joining BSP following a nod by party chief Mayawati in the presence of BSP national coordinator and Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Gautham.

Sources said Praveen Kumar and Swaeroes Students’ Union (SSU) will be mobilising SCs, STs, BCs, minorities and poor for the meeting from across the state. The Nalgonda public meeting will be just a day ahead of Congress party’s scheduled public meeting “Girijana -Dalitha Dandora” at Indravelli in Adilabad district on occasion of International Adivasi Day on August 9.

A message being circulated among Swaeroes describes the ex-IPS officer as a leader of “Bahujans” who is entering active politics to change the lives of these sections of people. It has asked them to turn up in lakhs for the meeting “at their own expense” for taking forward Praveen Kumar’s agenda focusing on education, health and economy for changing the lives of downtrodden sections.

It is learnt that ahead of the public meeting, the ex-IPS officer will interact with “Bahujan” leaders and employees of old Adilabad district at Jannaram in Mancherial district on July 30 under the banner of “Abhinandana Sabha”.
