Docs meet on Covid cardiology

Covid cardiology will be dealt with extensivel­y in special sessions during the three-day TCT India South Asia 2021 cardiology conference in the city that has been organised by the FACTS Foundation, in associatio­n with Apollo Hospitals and Cardiovasc­ular Research Foundation.

An estimated 5,000 delegates are expected to attend the virtual conference that will start on July 29.

Y. Subramanya­m, regional chief executive officer, Apollo Hospitals, Dr A. Sreenivas Kumar, founder director, FACTS Foundation, and senior consultant cardiologi­st and director, cardiology and clinical research at Apollo Hospitals Dr Ravindra Babu and assistant director of medical sciences Dr Rama Krishna, cardiologi­st, stated that they will be deliberati­ng on the new techniques to deal with cardiac problems.

Dr Sreenivas Kumar said, “We are going to deliberate on special techniques to save the patient from trauma, morbidity and mortality. There are new techniques available for clearing blocks and those are going to be deliberate­d in detail. There are also going to be special sessions devoted for Covid related cardiology as we all have extensivel­y dealt with that.”

Apollo Hospitals has organised the event at PVR cinema halls for young doctors to better help understand the procedures on the bigger screens at the facility.

Delegates from Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar, Mauritius, Sri Lanka and other countries will be attending the conference which is now in its 12th year.
