Janhvi not waiting for Dostana 2

Janhvi Kapoor is not waiting for the male lead of Karan Johar’s film Dostana 2 to be announced — she is going ahead with the shooting of other films.

Fifty per cent of Dostana 2 had been completed when the lead male actor Kartik Aaryan exited for reasons not officially stated by either him or the filmmaker.

“Janhvi has now begun shooting of Mili — the remake of Malayalam film Helen, directed by Mathukutty Xavier, who also directed the 2019 original toplining Anna Ben and Lal. She has finished

Goodluck Jerry and will soon start shooting for another cricket film with Rajkummar Rao and the Gunjan Saxena director Sharan Sharma,” says our source.

According to the source, Janhvi will be allotting dates for Dostana 2 only when the male actor is

There is a catch, however. If the new male lead is an older actor, they may want to recast the rest of the film. The note from Dharma Productions says, “Due to professional circumstances, on which we have decided to maintain a dignified silence — we will be recasting Dostana 2, directed by Collin D’Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon.”

Incidentally, Janhvi is also waiting for another Karan Johar film – his directorial Takht which has been in limbo since the pandemic messed up shooting schedules.
