Mohit, Vincent, Vaishnavi get good starts
Mohit Saini, Akshay Vincent and Veera Vaishnavi won two races each on the opening day of the 35th Hyderabad Sailing Week which got underway at the Hussain Sagar Lake here on Sunday.
In a tough contest, Mohit Saini covered up the lead as he got two gun position in the first and third races of the Laser Standard category but Israj Ali is still in lead as he got a gun in the second race when gusting winds and thundering clouds marked the beginning of the sailing week.
In Laser 4.7 class Akshay Vincent covered up the lead as he got two gun position in races 1 & 3 but Balle Kiran Kumar is still in lead as he got a gun in race 2.
There was a tough fight amongst Rammilan Yadav, Sikhanshu Singh and Awnish Yadav in the Laser Radial men’s category.
Finally, Rammilan Yadav got a gun position in the first race, Shikanshu Singh got a gun position in second and Awnish Yadav got a gun position in the third race.
In the Laser Radial women’s category, R. Aswini and Veera
Vaishnavi were involved in a spirited fight before Aswini got a gun in the first race and Vaishnavi got two guns, in the second and third races.
Arjuna Awardee, Honorary Captain Rajesh Choudhary, VSM was the Guest of Honour for the day.
