Vaishnavi sweeps the races
Vaishnavi Veeravamsham was right on top as she aced all three races on the second day of the 35th Hyderabad Sailing Week at the Hussain Sagar Lake here on Monday.
In Laser Radial women’s category Vaishnavi, the star of the day, got all three guns in the fourth, fifth and sixth races. The Yacht Club of Hyderabad sailor now has five wins out of six races and is heading for a convincing gold medal.
The 15-year-old aspires to qualify for next year’s Asian Games.
In the Laser 4.7 class, Chunnu Kumar got one gun position in Race 4. However, Ritika Dangi is still in lead after getting two guns in the fifth and sixth races.
Meanwhile, it was a thrilling fight between Deepak Kumar Saini and Mohit Saini in the Laser Standard category. Deepak got one gun position in the fourth race but Israj Ali is still in lead as he got a gun in Race 6.
In the Laser Radial men’s class, there was an exciting fight amongst Rammilan Yadav, Sikhanshu Singh and Awnish Yadav. Finally, Rammilan Yadav got a
gun positin in the fourth race. Shikanshu Singh got a gun position in the fifth and Awnish Yadav got a gun position in the sixth race.
