Non-vaccinated, violators add to Covid cases in state

- DC CORRESPONDENT HYDERABAD, AUG. 26

Covid-19 cases are being noted in those who have not been vaccinated and those vaccinated, who are not following disease-prevention guidelines. While the cases are mild in those who are vaccinated, the transmission of the Coronavirus from one person to another being is noted.

Dr Mohan Gupta, senior member of Indian Medical Association, said, “Lack of social sense and unnecessary travel and social gathering are the reason for the cases. Those who are vaccinated have to follow social distancing and masks. Those who have received one dose of the vaccine have to take the second dose. Awareness is important.”

While the GHMC area is being strictly monitored, it is not so in the districts. A senior government doctor in Gandhi Hospital said, “We are getting more patients from the districts. These are in a serious condition, and they are coming with complications. The districts are facing a different challenge as vaccination is still to be carried out there.”

The border areas require better surveillance and strict monitoring but that is not happening, stated senior government officers.
