Farah Khan ticks off the trolls

Choreographer–fi lmmaker gives it back to trolls in her witty yet candid style

Actor Arbaaz Khan has been making all the right moves with the guests he brings in on his latest season of QuPlay’s Pinch, including Rajkummar Rao, Ananya Panday and Ayushmann Khurrana.

His upcoming guest seems to be choreographer and filmmaker Farah Khan. And going by the promo video of the upcoming episode, she has left quite the mark on the show, which has already been known for the confessions and the hard-core revelations made by the actors and celebs on it.

In a snapshot of what’s to come in the episode, the trailer starts off with Arbaaz introducing Farah as a dear friend, adding that one “can like her or hate her but you cannot ignore her”. Her first pot-shot at the trolls on the trailer is “Jiske paas phone hain, woh critic hain, usko films ke baarei mein sab maalum hain [Anyone with a phone is a critic today and that person knows everything about films].” The promo shows Farah in her element, giving it back in her signature candid and witty style to trolls who’ve been dominating social media spaces, abusing and throwing shade at celebs, all the while hiding behind the privilege of anonymity.

Pointing out how trolls would ‘complain’ if she said a simple “Hello” by asking why she couldn’t say “Namaste” or “Salaam”, Farah adds that she doesn’t take trolls seriously. “Aap bolte ho nepotism and all that par dekhni toh aapko Shah Rukh Khan ki daughter ki photo hain, ya Kareena ke bete ki photo. [All of you keep talking about nepotism and such but you still only want to look at Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter’s or Kareen’s son’s pictures],” she says. Towards the end of the trailer she then ‘threatens’ the trolls about coming up with her fitness video!

“Serves you all right. I’ll put up a fitness video… wearing leotards,” she says animatedly.
