I rediscovered myself during lockdown: Jyotika

The actress shares a patriotic post for social media debut

Jyotika is one of few stars in K’town whose fan following is intact despite her long break from acting. Though most celebrities connect with their fans through social media, Jyotika had stayed away from it. But on Tuesday, the vivacious star started her digital journey with an Instagram account. Her very first post, a patriotic one waving the Indian flag against the backdrop of a snowy mountain, has gone viral, with several lakh ‘likes.’

She garnered 1.3 M followers in no time, and the numbers are increasing.

In an earlier interview to this newspaper, Jyotika had said she was not keen to be part of Twitter. And when DC contacted her on Tuesday about her change of mind, the soft-spoken actress said, “Just thought that it’s time to share positivity. I have lots of memories of the last one-and-a-half years of lockdown, when I rediscovered myself. Felt like sharing it.”

The actress, who is gearing up for the release of Udanpirappe, says she will be active on Instagram.
