The rank and file of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti celebrated the party’s ‘flag festival’ with fervour across the state on Thursday.

As party president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, working president K.T. Rama Rao, several Cabinet ministers, party MPs, MLAs, MLCs, etc were away in Delhi to lay the foundation stone for the party office on Thursday, local TRS leaders from village-level to statelevel ensured that the party flag hoisting programme was a grand success.

Finance minister T. Harish Rao hoisted the party flag in several wards in undivided Medak district, while animal husbandry minister T. Srinivas Yadav hoisted party flags at several locations under the GHMC limits.

After the party flag festival, the exercise to reorganise the party was initiated at villagelevel in all districts. The process to set up committees at all levels in gram panchayats, municipalities and municipal corporations would be taken up till September 20.

After September 20, the committees at district and state-level will be announced by the state party leadership before September 30.

However, the schedule for constitution of division-level committees and basti committees under the GHMC limits will be issued later after holding a special meeting with party leaders in the city this week.

Rao thanked the party's rank and file for making the flag festival a grand success. He urged them to show the same spirit and meet deadlines stipulated by the party leadership in constituting party committees at all levels as part of restructuring of the party from grassroot level. Rao asked them to complete this exercise by September 20 by constituting ward, mandal, town and municipal-level committees.
