Actor Sidharth Shukla, winner of Bigg Boss 13 and Khatron Ke Khiladi 7, known recently for his role in the web series Broken But Beautiful, Season 3, died of a heart attack on Thursday morning. The actor was only 40 years old. According to sources, Sidharth had taken some medicines on Wednesday night and did not wake up in the morning and was rushed to the hospital. However, Cooper Hospital officials confirmed that the actor was brought in dead. Cause of death is yet to be confirmed.

Sidharth was a big face on TV after being a runner-up at the Gladrags Manhunt contest and having done shows like Balika Vadhu opposite Pratyusha Banerjee who had also died of suicide in April 2016.

Sidharth debuted on television with Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na followed by Jaane Pehchaane Se Ye Ajnabbi and Love U Zindagi. He participated in the reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6. He acted in the Dharma Productions’ film Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania starring Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. Varun posted pictures of Sidharth with him, saying “Rip brother [sic]”. Politicians across parties also tweeted shock at the demise of the actor who was also a huge fitness freak. Sidharth was also a popular name on social media. His name along with his friend and co contestant at Bigg Boss, Shehnaz Gill, would often trend as SidNaz on social media. The two entered the Bigg Boss OTT recently as guests. Apparently, Shehnaz also left from her shoot immediately after hearing about Sidharth’s demise. Many others from the industry, including Vikas Gupta, Rahul Mahajan and Hindustani Bhau visited Sidharth’s house and the hospital soon after they heard about his demise.

While a small section of the social media started to hint that Sidharth’s death could be similar to that of Sushant Singh Rajput’s who died by suicide in June 2020, Sid’s family told police that he was under no mental pressure and that they did not suspect any foul play.
