KCR let down Dalits in TS, say Congress leaders

Speakers at the ‘Dalit Girijan Atma Gourava Dandora Dhoom Dhaam’ in the city on Saturday evening castigated the TRS government for what they called failures of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao in addressing the needs and grievances of Dalits in the state.

All India Congress Committee spokesperson Dr Sravan Dasoju, who organised the event, addressing the gathering at Khairatabad, the Chief Minister was faking concern towards Dalits ahead of Huzurabad bypoll.

“He is promising he will give `10 lakh to every Dalit family. But over the last seven years, of the 9.15 lakh SCs/STs who applied for loans through SC/ST Corporation, just 1.05 lakh were given loans. And of the `6,491 crore allocated to SC/ST Finance Corporation, only `2,246 crore were spent. Now, he is once again cheating Dalits in the name of 'Dalit Bandhu,' as he is fearing defeat in Huzurabad by poll.”
