Stars, Supervek, Samskruthi top

Rising Stars Hyderabad scored a narrow win 65-63 win over KVBR, Supervek defeated Sharp Shooters 54-40 and Samskruthi accounted for Elite Basketball Academy 40-25 in round robin matches of the Annual League Basketball Championship conducted by the Hyderabad District Basketball Association played at the CCOB basketball courts.

Ram’s superlative display went in vain as his side KVBR succumbed to the all round team performance of Rising Stars Hyderabad for whom Nikhil Goud, Shashi Kamal and Sai Kamal combined well. Leading 34-29 at halftime, Rising Stars staved off a late surge by KVBR to emerge victors even though Gowtham came up with an inspired display in the final quarter.

Manish, Prithvi and George were the prolific scorers for Samskruthi in their side’s 40-25 win over Elite basketball Academy for whom Krish and Yash did the bulk of scoring.

Supervek led by Satyadeep and Peter had to ward off a stiff challenge from Sharp Shooters in the first quarter and as the game progressed into the second quarter Satyadeep scoring thrice in quick succession struck form as the winner led 24-14 at the halftime. Manideep Yadav and Chandrakanth tried valiantly to break through but the resilience of the winners as they blocked out all entry routes into the restricted area enabled them to snatch a 54-40 win.
