After torture, cop offers Dalit a bribe
SI Narsimha used third degree methods against Dalit
The Nalgonda Two Town sub inspector Narsimha, who played a key role in resorting to third degree methods on a Dalit real estate businessman in the presence of his wife inside the police station in an attempt to settle a civil dispute, had allegedly offered `5 lakh compensation to the victim to withdraw his complaint.
Based on the report by additional superintendent of police, district training centre, Satish Chodagiri, the Nalgonda police are all set to take action against the police officers for taking law into their hands.
Meanwhile, the footage CCTVs installed at the Nalgonda II Town police station was allegedly erased by the police. When contacted by the police, they said the CCTVs at the police station were not functioning properly due to technical issues.
R. Prasad, brother of the victim R. Srinivas, said when the incident took place he was in Bengaluru on personnel work.
“When my family members informed me about the issue of harassment of my brother, I made a call to Narsimha requesting to let off my brother as he was a diabetic patient. Narsimha and two other policemen indulged in torturing my brother subjecting him to third degree in the presence of my sister-in-law who went to the police station to know whereabouts of her husband,” Prasad alleged.
As the health condition of Srinivas deteriorated, Narsimha let him off from the police station.
“We shifted the victim to a nearby private hospital for proper treatment and doctors noticed the health condition and referred us to the government hospital. My family members shifted the victim to the District Government Hospital in Nalgonda where the doctors gave a report that the left leg of the victim was fractured completely and preliminary treatment provided,” Prasad said.
