Viktrina wedding gets underway
Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan is abuzz with preparations for the high-profile wedding of Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif
Things are rather hectic at the Six Senses, Barwara Fort Hotel, Sawai Madhopur.
There are a thousand details to be handled for the wedding of Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif – they may be as wide in scope as the rituals to be conducted, the décor and the choice of security agencies, or as minute as where vegetables for the meals are to be sourced, the songs selection for the sangeet and the horses to be used for the rituals.
To add to the stress, the landlines to the hotel have been disconnected, to prevent any information from being leaked. The event management company hired for the purpose has been at work for a week, but the bride and groom and members of their respective families reached the venue on December 6 and are overseeing the arrangements.
THE SCHEDULE: The couple had a registered marriage a couple of days ago at Katrina’s home. With that formality completed, other wedding programmes are now being held. The Sangeet took place on December 7, and the Haldi ceremony will be held on December 8 at 11 a.m., followed by a party at night. On December 9, the groom will be ready with his sehra at 1 p.m. and will reach the mandap by 3 p.m. The Saat pheras will be done by evening. A poolside party will begin at 8:30 p.m. and go on till 1 a.m. Another party is scheduled for December 10, besides a huge reception in Mumbai at a later date.
THE FIRST DANCE: Director and choreographer Farah Khan put together a series of dances based on popular numbers like Kala Chashma, Swag Se Swagat, Dil Diya Gallan, Teri Ore, Tune Jo Na Kaha and Nachde Ne Sare for the Sangeet ceremony, which saw the couple performing
together for the first time.
SEVEN WHITE HORSES AND A BUGGY:
Vicky will reportedly be riding a carriage drawn by seven pristine
white horses during the baraat.
Some of the finest horses in Rajasthan have been picked for the job.
KEEPING SAFE
While the security is mostly being taken care of by MH Security, Salman Khan’s bodyguard Shera’s company has also been pressed into service. The security personnel have to not only keep prying paparazzi out, but also stay alert for drones trying to grab a sneaky visual. The luxury cars of the celebrity guests are also their responsibility. Over 300 bouncers have been employed as well. Ten local cops will work hand-inhand with them. Meanwhile, strict Covid protocols are being maintained.
RESHMA AUR SHERA: While Shera is taking care of security, Katrina’s manager Reshma Shetty is supervising various aspects. Others like Katrina’s fitness trainer Yashmin Karachiwala, make-up and hair stylist Danies Chistopher Bauer, costume designer Anita Adjania Shroff and fashion stylist Akshay Tyagi also have responsibilities.
NOTHING ARTIFICIAL ABOUT IT!: No artificial flowers are being used at the wedding fresh flowers are being ordered in bulk. Rose petals will be showered on guests as they enter

A CONTRARY
NOTE:
sehra
An advocate from Sawai Madhopur has filed a complaint against Vicky, Katrina and the hotel management for blocking the route to the 568year-old Chauth Mata ka mandir. He complained that the roads were blocked from December 6 to 12 and thousands of devotees would be unable to offer prayers at the temple.
