- DC CORRESPONDENT HYDERABAD, DEC. 9

A SENIOR officer, who is associated with the probe, said that they suspect the accused to have carried out the crime when the victims were asleep after consuming liquor. It is not yet known whether the accused are known to the victims.

Three people were killed by unidentified miscreants by hammering their heads to steal mobile phones and some cash from the victims at Dichpally police limits of Nizamabad.

A senior officer, who is associated with the probe, said that they suspect the accused to have carried out the crime when the victims were asleep after consuming liquor. It is not yet known whether the accused are known to the victims.

According to the CCTV footage, which was retrieved from a nearby place, a person was moving at the place in a suspicious manner.

The deceased were identified as Harpal Singh, a mechanic of harvester machines, and his helper Joginder Singh — both natives of Punjab and residents of Nagpurgate — and Banoth Suneel.

Harpal Singh had come to Dichpally a few months ago and was working as a mechanic of harvester machines. He brought Joginder Singh as his helper a week ago.

“A passerby found three persons lying on the ground in a pool of blood and informed the police. Immediately, we visited the place and found that three people were murdered. While Joginder Singh and Harpal Singh were inside of a shed, Suneel was lying outside the shed. We also recovered empty liquor bottles at the place of the offence,” police said.

As the mobile phones and cash were stolen from the victims after committing murders, the police also suspect the role of inter-state robbery gangs as the National Highway44 is very close to the place of the offence.

Nizamabad Police Commissioner Karthikeya visited the place and reviewed the scene. Special teams were formed comprising a senior police officer to expedite the probe in nabbing the accused.
