Andrews boys shine in schools tourney

St Andrews boys made a mockery of their match against St Mary’s Junior College in the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s Under
16 Schools & Colleges tournament on Wednesday.
Two of them scored centuries while another scalped seven wickets to register a
560 run win for their side. It was clearly a mismatch. Batting first, Andrews made
588 for 7 in 44 overs as Aaditya Anand (169) and K. Sai Jathin Manas (114) scored a century each. In reply, St Mary’s were bowled out for a mere 28 in 6.1 overs as Yuvraj Yadav took seven wickets while conceding only 15 runs.
Avinash Jadhav was the next best performer. He took
5 for 8 to bowl Telangana Social Welfare School to a six-wicket win over Candor Shrine School.
Akhil Ram (5/20) of Global Indian International School and Milith Singh (5/42) of Jawahar High School were
the others who got five-wicket hauls.
Johnson Grammar High School’s Rajvardhan (114 n.o) and Chirec International School’s Ayush Ranjan (102 n.o) were the other centurions. Cal Public School’s Mir Hussain Ali missed the coveted threefigure mark by just two runs as he got stranded on 98 not out.
