KIDS AMONG SIX KILLED IN ROAD ACCIDENT

Six persons of a family, including two children, died on the spot when the speeding car in which the victims were travelling rammed into a truck parked at Jagannathp­ally Gate in Kamareddy district on Saturday. The deceased were from Falaknuma and Chaderghat in Hyderabad.

They were identified as Amir Taj, 30, his wife Sana Fatima, 28, and their two children Haniya, 2, and Hannaf, 4 months, who were residents of Chaderghat. Mohammed Hussain, 35, and his wife Taslim Begum, 30, residents of Falaknuma were also killed in the mishap.

The Peddagodap­gal inspector B. Ranjit said that Amir Taj and his family went to Nanded in Maharashtr­a a few days ago to visit a darga at Khander. The mishap took place in the night when they were returning to Hyderabad. The front portion of the car was completely damaged with Amir Taj stuck in the wreckage of the vehicle. Police had a tough time removing his body from the damaged car. Police said that the family visited Khander darga and offered prayers on Friday. Later, they spent some time at the place.

Amir Taj, who was driving the car, lost control over the steering resulting in the mishap. Police suspect that the car was driven at high speed.

“We received informatio­n about the mishap from control room staff and immediatel­y rushed to the spot. The car’s front portion was damaged and Amir Taj and five others were found dead. Amir’s body was stuck in the damaged car and we removed his body with the assistance of cranes,” police said.

The Kamareddy police identified the deceased based on the call data in Amir Taj’s mobile phone.

Police recovered a mobile phone from the accident site and dialed the last caller. The last caller was a close relative of Amir Taj living in Hyderabad. The bodies were shifted to the mortuary for postmortem.
